Shirley Wild: Party benefits Long Beach Boys & Girls Clubs
"Eau joy! Eat, drink and be merry"-and that they did! On April 2, more than 300 supporters of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach gathered at The Grand.
The event raised a remarkable $200,000 to support after-school activities for the youth of Long Beach. Steve (with Julie) McMahon, chief operating officer and chief financial officer COO/CFO of Choura Events and a Boys & Girls Clubs board member, served as the event chair for this over-the-top fundraising event.
Clad in themed costumes were Board President Irv Miller and his wife, Karen, and Executive Director Don Rodriguez and his wife, Cindy, who were on hand to welcome the guests. The party goers were adorned with themed accessories -- face masks, beads and feathered boas -- which were a big hit with the festive crowd.
