Girl Scouts are going to party

Girl Scouts are gathering together for a special 100th birthday party and to "Stand Up and Be Counted" at Six Flags Over Texas on March 12.

Celebrate the Year of the Girl on Monday, March 12, as the Girl Scouts celebrate their 100th Anniversary with a day of fun at Six Flags Over Texas.  The party begins with a Girl Scouts and Looney Tunes Dance Party at the Silver Star Carousel stage, continues with a flash mob, and ends with a night full of fun and songs in the Music Mill Amphitheatre.

Starting at 6 p.m., NBC 5's Deborah Ferguson will serve as MC for the Girl Scouts’ special program.  The X-Factor's Hayley Orrantia will get the party started with girls' favorite songs (including a few Girl Scout classics). Party-goers will also hear a special message from First Lady Laura Bush.  At 7:12 p.m. girls and adults will join together to "Stand Up and Be Counted" by reciting the Girl Scout promise (an event that is happening at that exact time at locations throughout North Texas). The State Musician of Texas Sara Hickman will close the special event.
